Make plans to join Mt. Vernon Baptist Church for an evening celebrating 40 years of faithful pastoral ministry by Dr. Shannon and Mrs. Zelma Scott. Please take careful note of the important information below…

Event Details – The evening banquet and dinner will be held in the Family Life Center of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church on Saturday, January 20, at 5pm. Registrations are required per the guidelines below. The evening will also feature a program honoring the Lord’s faithfulness to our church through Pastor Shannon and Mrs. Zelma’s ministry.

Registration Process – The cost of the banquet is $5/person or $15/maximum per family payable to “Mt. Vernon Baptist Church” by check or cash. Registration for the event is required, and registrations must be made by the deadline of Sunday, January 14, 2018. Please use the registration envelopes that are available at the church office and drop them off in the secure drop-box on the Financial Secretary’s office door.

Childcare – Childcare will be available for the banquet for registered children ages 1-5 along with a pizza dinner. All children must be registered no later than Sunday, January 14, 2018.

Gratitude Scrapbook – The planning team is compiling a scrapbook that will include letters from those of us who have been impacted by Pastor Shannon and Mrs. Zelma’s faithful ministry. You can participate in this by handwriting or typing your letter with your message of gratitude and memories on a single page of 8 ½ x 11” white typing paper. Please send your completed message by email to Susan Wyatt at or hand deliver them to Jenny Wayne, Anita Martin, or Susan Wyatt. In order to make sure your letter is included in the final binding, the deadline for submissions will be Sunday, January 14, 2018.
